Orbital vs Rotational Atherectomy Coronary Microcirculation Effects in PCI: The ORACLE Trial
The ORACLE Trial demonstrated that among patients with severely calcified coronary lesions, orbital atherectomy was associated with less acute coronary microvascular dysfunction immediately after atherectomy compared with rotational atherectomy; however, this difference disappeared by the completion of PCI, according to a study presented by Dr. Ziad A. Ali, St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center, USA, in the Hotline/Late-Breaking Trials session at EuroPCR 2026.
